This is Hamlet Education
Hamlet Education helps students, artists, transfer applicants, gap-year learners, and emerging adults navigate college, creative, and career transitions with clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of story.
We provide personalized college admissions counseling, creative application support, transfer guidance, and educational planning for students and families who want a process grounded in fit — not fear, prestige, or pressure.
Every path is personal. We help students understand their story, clarify their options, and move forward with purpose.
Our Why & How
Connecting Students to Their True North
At Hamlet Education, we believe every student deserves an educational experience where they can grow, contribute, and thrive — not simply settle.
The admissions process often pushes students to shape themselves around what they think colleges want. We take a different approach. We help students understand who they are, what they value, how they learn, and where they are most likely to flourish academically, socially, creatively, and personally.
Whether a student is applying to college for the first time, preparing creative materials, considering transfer, taking a gap year, or navigating an unexpected transition, we simplify the path forward and make the process more thoughtful, manageable, and clear.
Fit Is Not Settling
Words like “safety,” “reach,” and “dream school” can make the college process feel like a hierarchy instead of a search for alignment.
At Hamlet Education, we define fit more deeply.
Fit means understanding a student’s goals, strengths, needs, values, and hopes for the future.
Fit means building a list where every option has a reason to be there.
Fit means helping students see possibility — not fallback plans.
Fit means choosing with self-knowledge, not panic.

Celebrating Successes
We measure success not by a row of acceptance letters but by the joy and excitement a student feels about their chosen college.
Stephanie McCaine helps students, families, artists, and emerging adults navigate educational and life transitions with curiosity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of themselves.
Whether a student is applying to college, exploring a creative path, considering transfer, taking a gap year, or navigating an unexpected change, Stephanie’s work centers on helping clients recognize their strengths, develop authentic narratives, and make thoughtful decisions about what comes next.
Before working in admissions, Stephanie trained and practiced as a music therapist — an experience that continues to shape her work today. Listening deeply, recognizing potential, and hearing what is both said and unsaid remain central to the way she helps students explore opportunities, tell their stories, and find environments where they can thrive.
Stephanie spent more than two decades in college admissions and enrollment management, with experience in undergraduate, international, transfer, arts, and graduate admissions at institutions including Berklee College of Music and Purchase College, SUNY, where she served as Director of Admission. She later spent nearly a decade in independent school admissions, broadening her understanding of how young people develop confidence, discover their strengths, and define their own paths.
Her background gives families an insider’s understanding of how institutions recognize potential, shape communities, and evaluate applications — while reinforcing her belief that meaningful success is deeply personal.
Known for her thoughtful, intuitive, and individualized approach, Stephanie helps clients ask better questions, clarify their stories, and move through transitions with confidence and self-awareness. A member of NACAC and IECA, she has visited nearly 100 college campuses and maintains a broad network of colleagues across education and the arts.
When she is not working with clients, Stephanie serves on her local town board, finds peace along the coast of Maine, and enjoys spending time with her family and their two dogs, Chester and Zoey.
